Hard-working men!

So after having our flowers beds done, we wanted to have a border built to spiffy it up a bit and to keep weeds out. We totally planned on hiring that out too, but Nora's husband Roger wanted to get a little experience laying brick for a potential side business so, because we already had a bunch of brick left by the builders, he decided to take this first project on with Mike. Now if you now my husband, you know he's not exactly a "do-it-yourselfer" when it comes to home projects and repairs. Roger was eager and we were grateful, though, so the project began. Because of Mike's very busy schedule, Roger has done much of it himself when he's been available. Last Friday, though, the boys were working and bonding over brick...

My man can dig!
I came out of the house at one point and saw this adorable image. Alex loves working with his daddy in the yard but apparently needed a break... so Roger got to work with a little monkey on his back.

Isn't that so stinking cute?! He just hung out like that for a while. Kids are so funny!
There is still much to do to complete the task but it's looking lovely so far. I think Roger may have changed his mind about the side business thing-- it's a little more time-consuming than expected. We're so grateful that he offered to do this though and it'll be beautiful when it's finished. Gotta love good neighbors! As for Mike, he certainly won't be quiting his day job!
